If you're like many Amazon shoppers, you often read product reviews before making a purchase. Amazon reviews can be informative, informative and often funny. They can help you determine if clothing fits true to size or if home goods are made of quality materials. Whether you're looking for home appliances or children's toys, Amazon reviews can help you find worthwhile products.

But did you know that Amazon reviews can also be profitable? You can get paid in products or real cash to be an Amazon reviewer.

10 Ways to Get Paid for Amazon Reviews

Before you dive into how you can make hundreds of extra bucks every month, there are a few rules to being a paid Amazon reviewer. You may not receive money from manufacturers or Amazon sellers for writing and posting a review on Amazon for their products. Nor can you accept free or discounted products from a manufacturer or retailer for review. You also cannot review your own product or a competitor's product.

If you are found to be in violation of Amazon's consumer review policy, your reviews will be removed and the product will be removed from Amazon. With that in mind, if a seller offers you money or other incentives to review their item, it may be in your best interest to decline.

Fortunately, there are plenty of legitimate ways to get paid for Amazon reviews, as well as for Amazon product reviews elsewhere. Here are the top ten ways.

1. Join Amazon Vine

Amazon Vine is a legitimate way for an Amazon reviewer to get paid for Amazon reviews. Amazon Vine is Amazon's invitation-only review program. If you post insightful and helpful reviews, you may be invited to become a Vine Voice.

Make your money work better

As an Amazon Vine member, you can request free products to review. The review must be honest and unbiased. Your reviews will be marked with a badge identifying them as a "Customer Review of a Free Vine Product". Vine Voices are highly respected and knowledgeable consumers who are often trusted by other Amazon customers.

After reviewing the product, you can keep it, donate it, or sell it for cash.

2. Join the Amazon Influencer Program

Amazon Influencers are content creators who use and recommend Amazon products. This is done by creating an Amazon store or using affiliate links on social media platforms. You can apply to be an Amazon Influencer if you have a large social media following on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok. To log in based on your Insta or Facebook followers, you'll need a business account.

Amazon ranks and welcomes influencers based on the size of their social media following and other factors.

3. Become an Amazon Associate

If you have your own blog or website, or have developed a mobile app or Alexa skill, you may qualify to become an Amazon Associate instead of an Amazon Influencer. The programs are similar; Both influencers and affiliates share their affiliate links on Amazon to earn a commission on each sale.

An Amazon member identifies as a business rather than a social media influencer. When selecting Associates, Amazon looks for a site with original submissions and sites that meet the participation criteria.

You can review Amazon products on your website and share your affiliate link. Don't forget to mention that you may earn a commission when your readers or viewers make a purchase through your link.

Make your money work better

Once you become an Amazon Member or Influencer, there are plenty of opportunities to earn money with Amazon reviews.

4. Create your own Amazon store

As an Amazon Influencer, you can create an Amazon store with your favorite products. As an Influencer, you're not allowed to review your own products on Amazon, but it's a great way to earn money from your favorite Amazon finds.

You can publish live streams and create shoppable photos and videos featuring your favorite Amazon products. Use your social media accounts to direct people to your Amazon store, which should have a personalized URL.

5. Join AMZDiscover

Whether you're an affiliate, a Vine Voices member, or just enjoy writing reviews on Amazon, you can become a featured product tester on AMZDiscover. This site connects brands with talented Amazon reviewers. Companies will send you products for free to test and review. After trying the products, you can keep or sell them.

6. Snag Amazon Coupons Online

Several other sites also connect brands with reviewers. Many of these sites offer deeply discounted coupons that you can redeem for Amazon products. For example, Snagshout offers discount codes for free Amazon products plus extra cash delivered directly to your PayPal account. It's free to sign up.

Similarly, VIP Power Club offers up to 99% discount on Amazon items. When you redeem the offer, you can immediately use the discount code on Amazon to order the product at a significant discount. Many products also have free shipping with Prime.

7. Start a blog

If you become an Amazon Influencer or Amazon Associate, you can earn money by writing Amazon reviews and product summaries or sharing Amazon offers on your blog.

Make your money work better

Keep in mind that it takes time to build a readership for a new blog. You can get faster results by marketing your blog through email and social media. Bloggers can earn up to $100,000 a month over time if they have a large following.

Best of all, affiliate links and ads on your blog can continue to earn you money even if you don't update your blog every day once you've built up good traffic. This makes blogging and sharing Amazon affiliate links a great source of passive income over time.

Good to know

To run a successful blog, you'll want to choose a niche that's in demand but not overcrowded. You can write about kitchen appliances, travel, electronics, gaming, camping, sports — the possibilities are truly endless.

Make sure you offer value with every post, including helpful tips related to your niche.

Work seamlessly with product links. For better visibility, you can also insert Amazon links in each post that look like ads.

8. Start your YouTube channel

Once you become an Amazon affiliate, the possibilities for making money sharing reviews on Amazon are virtually endless. If you prefer recording videos and speaking to writing, you can start a YouTube channel and review Amazon products.

Best of all, you don't have to appear on camera if you don't want to. Simply demo the product and report your review.

9. Check out the products on your social media accounts

Social media platforms are another effective way to get the word out about your favorite Amazon products and share your Amazon affiliate link.

You can share your link on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest or X. Note that you cannot use your X or Pinterest accounts to claim as an Amazon Influencer, but they can complement other platforms.

Make your money work better

10. Start a Facebook group or TikTok channel where you share Amazon deals

Shoppers often search Facebook and TikTok for the best deals at their favorite stores. If you can deliver on these offers, you'll build a loyal following — and potentially tons of money when you share your affiliate links.

You can create a public Facebook group and share Amazon Lightning Deals, which are limited-time offers for steep discounts. You can also share your favorite products, especially if they are on sale or you feel they are an exceptional value, even at full price. You can also share your favorite Amazon finds on TikTok videos and put your link in the comments.

12 Freelance Websites to Promote Your Side Idea in 2024

12 Freelance Websites to Promote Your Side Idea in 2024

Freelance websites take the pain out of one of the many hustle and bustle of small businesses

You have researched the market demand. You've discovered that you have a high-income skill, and you've found a way to monetize your expertise. The business infrastructure is in place and you are now ready to take on paying customers with passive income or gigging. But now comes the very important but dreaded question: How can you find clients to begin with?

12 Freelance Websites to Promote Your Side Idea in 2024
12 Freelance Websites to Promote Your Side Idea in 2024

Stepping into the unknown and starting a side hustle for the first time is often an overwhelming and nerve-wracking experience. What if no one likes and pays for what you offer? What if you can't top up your salary after all (or possibly adjust it to replace it entirely)? Because of course a side hustle isn't a side hustle without paying customers.

And if you can't find any gig work, you'll soon find that you have no business at all.

Factors to consider when choosing a freelancing website

Fortunately, there are a number of online platforms that allow you to promote your services and make them available to a wider audience both locally and globally, making it easier for you to secure client work, contracts and gigs.

But which one should you choose? Consider this checklist when evaluating a freelance website:

1. Properties

Carefully weigh the pros and cons of each before choosing a freelancing platform. Some have integrations that make it easy to automate your service offerings, such as communicating with customers, scheduling appointments on your calendar, or processing client payments. Others do not provide this, but simply serve as an interaction platform for client acquisition and for displaying reviews and testimonials from satisfied customers.

2. Fees

It's also important to note that not all freelancing platforms are free; some charge to display the contact information of potential leads, while others may charge you a fee calculated as a percentage of your revenue. For example, Upwork takes 10% of your freelance earnings. But at the very least, these websites can be your stepping stones, so you can get initial visibility and get the first reviews of your services and expand elsewhere (for example, to your own website attracting clients from Google searches).

3. Liability

Another factor to consider is that since you are a freelancer, the client, corporate or not, does not cover any costs such as health care or insurance. In addition, you will need to track and record your business income and expenses and file your business taxes.

4. Industry

Finally, some freelance websites are better suited for some industries than others. For example, one platform may tend to favor consulting gigs, while another may work better for technical issues like app and web development. A good example would be ServiceScape, which focuses more on freelance writing and editorial work.

Freelance websites and platforms

Check out this list of freelance websites to see which ones suit your idea:

12 Freelance Websites to Promote Your Side Idea in 2024
12 Freelance Websites to Promote Your Side Idea in 2024

1. SimplyHired

SimplyHired is a job board that posts thousands of jobs, including remote roles and freelance projects, with filters for posting date and minimum wage to name a few. Simply typing "freelance" into the search box will generate a long list of freelance roles in your area or remotely, as the case may be.

You can also be more specific and enter search terms like “freelance content writer” to access relevant gigs. Some of the published contracts can pay up to $70,000 a year.

Consider the industry you operate in and the service you will be providing, as this is an important.

2. Upwork

The Upwork freelance platform is suitable for a wide variety of side projects that you can promote, such as:

  1. • Consultancy in the field of brand voice and design
  2. • Fashion design
  3. • Cover and digital designs for marketing
  4. • Architecture and interior design
  5. • Photography, videography and media production services
  6. • Web and application development
  7. • Data analysis
  8. • Marketing, PR and SEO services and consulting
  9. • Content writing and copywriting
  10. • And a number of other consulting services, such as personnel, business, legal and financial consulting

3. Fiverr

Fiverr is another fantastic resource for promoting your side hustle; it has hundreds of categories and allows clients to pay by the project and not by the hour. You can get 80% of your earnings and you can choose to work as often or as little as you want. According to the website, you can set your fees anywhere from $5 to $995 and offer three versions of your service at three different prices with their gig packages.

4. LinkedIn

Although not traditionally advertised as a freelancing platform, LinkedIn offers a unique opportunity for side hustlers to use their expertise, network and credibility built through their profile and presence to land clients. LinkedIn has a freelancing section called "services" that you can add to the "open" section at the top of your profile.

LinkedIn members who are interested in learning more about your services can submit a project request through this section and you can make payments through the next conversation. In addition, when they search for a specific service, such as career coaching, your profile will appear in the list of search results if it is optimized.

5. He stammered

If you think you have a good experience and portfolio and have experience in business, technology or design, you may want to consider joining Toptal as a freelancer. Toptal is an exclusive freelance talent network that you can join if you are a developer (I mean full stack, back-end or front-end), UI/UX designer or digital product manager, management consultant (I mean M&A or financial strategy), project manager or scrum master. Projects can range from hourly to long-term, from various corporations around the world.

6-TaskRabbit

Not every freelance job requires a laptop. Since 2008, TaskRabbit has been connecting people with freelancers to help them with odd jobs like shopping, plumbing, furniture assembly, moving and more. We chose it as the best site for non-digital jobs because it specifically targets people with non-digital skills. To book jobs through TaskRabbit, you need to create a profile and list all the job categories you're comfortable with, along with your rate. After completing your profile, you must pass a background and ID check. Once your background check is processed, you must also attend an orientation session, which costs $25. As a "Tasker" you can choose which tasks you want to complete and once you complete a task you can send an invoice to your client directly through the platform. Like Upwork and Fiverr, your TaskRabbit clients can leave you ratings and reviews based on your performance. If you plan to use TaskRabbit to search for gigs on a regular basis, positive reviews can help you increase your visibility on the platform and gain repeat clients.

7-FlexJobs

FlexJobs was created in 2007 to respond to the lack of a centralized place to find legitimate work-from-home opportunities. Since then, it has grown to become the largest site for manually controlled remote jobs. On Freelancer, you can search and apply for local and remote jobs in dozens of fields such as accounting, architecture, design, human resources, content writing, social media marketing, sales, software development, and more. Now these websites are looking for more than positive reviews. They want to hear what you really think.

Publishers and new authors often send out free copies of their book so they can have a real review of their book. This is because readers like you and I want to read reviews before spending too much time diving into a book.

There are many other websites that will provide you with paid and/or free book review sites, but the list below is the most popular platforms I have found.

Below are websites to check out if you are interested in book review options:

1. Online book club

Online Book Club – With OnlineBookClub.org, you get paid in book first (no cash). For all books after that, you'll be eligible to get paid for book review opportunities, and the books will always be free.

They review around 10,000 books every year and are very popular among book reviewers.

3. UpWork

UpWork – With UpWork, you would have to create your own profile and list as a book reviewer. This way, clients and authors can find you and hire you directly to read and review their book.

Some of the book reviewer profiles I found charged anywhere from $15 an hour to $75 an hour.

4. US Review of Books

The US Review of Books - This website employs freelance writers to review books and write reviews ranging from 250 to 300 words.

10. New pages

New Pages - This site features book reviews and literary magazine reviews. They're looking for short reviews that are 200 words or less, but also packed with content.

Other ways to get paid to read books

There are many other ways to read and get paid. Here are some jobs you can check out:

11. Become a book proofreader

As a proofreader, you get paid to read books that haven't been published yet.

Proofreading is an important step in the publishing process, as proofreaders correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. No matter how great an author is, there will always be a need for proofreaders.

So you can find proofreaders for self-published authors to major book publishers.

Online proofreading is in demand and is a flexible, detail-oriented work-from-home job. To work as a proofreader, you only need a laptop or tablet, an Internet connection and the ability to detect errors.

If you want to make a career out of reading books, a proofreader is a great option if you're good at spotting mistakes.

I interviewed a professional proofreader about what it means to become a proofreader and she answered questions like:

• What does a proofreader do?

• How much money do proofreaders make every month?

• How do I find starting proofreading jobs?

12. Read aloud with audiobooks

Yes, you can get paid to read books as a dubber.

So if you love reading books, you can actually get paid to read books out loud!

Audiobooks are extremely popular right now, and becoming a narrator can be a fun job.

A voice actor is someone you hear but rarely see in audiobooks, iTunes, Audible, YouTube videos, radio commercials, explainer videos, corporate narratives, documentaries, TV commercials, video games, movies, and cartoons.

In 2014, my friend Carrie replaced her paying day job to become a full-time voice actor. People keep asking her how she got started and how they can too.

So she created a six-week online course and it sold out. Several of her students booked voice acting jobs before the class was even over!

I was excited to learn more about this work-from-home job, so I interviewed Carrie to find out:

• How she got into this interesting career field

• Who are her most frequent clients

• How much money can an aspiring actor expect to make

• The upside of becoming a voice actor

• How to find your first voice job

• Costs, what kind of equipment you need (Your voice talent, microphone and headphones!) and more

You can learn more about becoming a narrator for audiobooks (and other voice-over work)

13. Start a book review blog and earn affiliate income

With a book review blog, you would review books that interest you or are related to the topic of your blog. This can be a great way to learn how to make money reading books online.

Readers will want to hear your honest review in your blog posts.

Then you could make money in a number of ways, including placing affiliate links on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other online stores for the books you read. Some bloggers may share their opinions on books they've read, host online discussions, or use books to help readers with various topics.

If you are not familiar with affiliate marketing, it is my favorite way to make money blogging.

How affiliate marketing works:

• Affiliates are people or businesses that are paid to promote a product or service.

• When you become an affiliate, you get special links that you can use when you promote something for the company. Links allow companies to track where sales are coming from.

• You then place these links on your website, social media accounts, etc. in hopes that someone will buy something through your link.

• When someone makes a purchase through your unique affiliate link, the company knows where the customer came from and pays you a commission.

An example is Amazon's affiliate program, which is perfect if you want to start a blog about books. Amazon gives you special links and you can share a link to a specific book on your website or blog and encourage people to buy the book through your affiliate link.

Amazon and other companies want quality affiliates because they want all the help they can get to promote the products and services they sell. If you get someone to buy the book through your link, the company will pay you for sharing the link.

A book review blog can be a great way to get paid to read books if you want something flexible that pays off very well over time.

Plus, you'll be your own boss when you can decide which books you want to read and start your own blog!

I've also personally reviewed books on my blog and made money from those book review blog posts - so I know it's possible! Starting a book review website is something you can do as well.

Another career field closely related to starting a book blog would be to start a YouTube channel that also reviews books.

14. Get paid to translate books as a freelancer or as an employee

Do you know another language? If so, you can find a job from home where you get paid to read books and translate them into another language.

Another option if you speak another language is to get paid to proofread or edit translated books to make sure they read well.

There are many places where you can find book translation jobs, including:

• UpWork – With UpWork you simply create a free profile, apply for a job and then get paid. UpWork charges service fees when you invoice your clients, but it's free to join.

• Babelcube – Babelcube is a website that sends you freelance translation projects. You choose which books to translate, translate them into one of over 15 different languages, and work with published authors.

• Guru – Guru is a website that offers freelance writing and translation jobs. This platform mainly focuses on highly skilled freelancers.

• Indeed – Indeed has been around since 2004 and is one of the longest running job listing websites. Indeed lists jobs they find on job boards, staffing firms, company websites and more.

• FlexJobs – FlexJobs is one of the most popular websites used to find remote work and work from home opportunities. There is a cost to join FlexJobs, but there are many features to sort and search for jobs, so it could be worth it.

• Today Translations – This is a website looking for freelance translators for them.

• Fiverr – Fiverr is an online marketplace where you can find freelance work all over the world. You can list your translation services and prices directly on this platform.

• Ulatus – Ulatus is a website that provides translation services, which means they need translators! They have more than 200,000 clients worldwide with more than 3,000 language experts.

• Creating your own website. I'm always a fan of having your own website so clients can find you.

As you can see, if you want to know how to make money reading books, there are plenty of options if you want to use your translation skills.

15. Get paid to write books

I wanted to include a section on getting paid to write books. If you like reading books, you might also be interested in writing a book.

Technically, you would read your own book many times, so I guess that counts!

Writing your own book is a great way to make money at home.

For example. In fact, Alyssa self-published her first book and has sold over 13,000 copies to date. She was able to earn a great passive income of over $200 a day from her book ($6,500 in just one month

Yuwanda Black has found one of the most interesting jobs at home. She writes romance novels and managed to earn over $3000 in one month!

16. Find a full-time career in the book reading publishing industry

If you want to learn how to make money reading books, there are many other jobs in the publishing industry.

With these careers in book publishing, you will most likely need to read a book to do your job. Many require at least a bachelor's degree.

This is mostly a full-time job, e.g.

• Book marketing assistant

• Book columnist

• Book Public Relations Agent

• Book layout designer

• Book graphic designer

• Book editor

• Copy editor

• Illustrator

• Literary agent

Sales Representative

Production Manager

• Marketing Manager

• Book Contract Manager

If you are looking for jobs in the publishing industry, I recommend Publisher’s Weekly.

Want to learn how to sell Canva templates?

Want to know how to make money selling Canva templates?

You can start creating Canva templates to sell and make money from the comfort of your own home – and never have to send anything.

Creating Canva templates can be a great way to make extra money because you only need to create them once and you can sell them an unlimited number of times.

Today I have a fun interview to share with you. I interviewed Making Sense of Cents reader Maliha about how to sell Canva templates.

Working just a few hours a week, Maliha is able to earn $2,000 every month selling Canva templates online.

Are you interested in questions like:

• What exactly is a Canva template? What is Canva?

• Can I sell Canva templates?

• How can I sell my designs on Canva?

• Who buys Canva templates?

• How can I learn how to create templates for sales?

• Can someone without technical skills create a Canva template?

Today's interview will help you get started and maybe even introduce you to a new way to make extra money.

How to sell canvas templates?

1. Please tell us a little about yourself and how you started selling Canva templates.

It all started with my blog. A few years ago, things took a turn for the unknown. I was lost and stressed and felt like a failure. A lot of realizations came up. Implementation as…

• A college degree may not always be enough to land your dream job.

• Jobs are not permanent.

• Dream jobs don't always pay enough.

• Sometimes the dream job turns out not to be what you expected.

• Etc.

I won't go into the gory details, but let's just say I was in a dark place. I needed to make money, so I did what I could. I was freelancing as a web developer – a skill I taught myself in college out of curiosity (who knew it would pay my bills one day!). I also worked as a virtual assistant on and off. During that time, thanks to a lot of blogger clients, I also got to know blogging, affiliate marketing and passive income in general.

They got me thinking about starting my own blog too! After all, I've always loved to read, and what reader doesn't dream of becoming a writer at least once in their life? So in June 2018, my blog - The Side Blogger - was born.

Initially, I spent an obscene amount of time creating fancy graphics for my blog and social channels using Photoshop and InDesign. It was a pretty boring business. My education is in engineering. And while I've always had a high regard for visual design, learning Photoshop or InDesign was a whole different game. But then, thanks to a few of my virtual assistants, I found Canva – an online graphic design app.

I first fell in love with the app for its ease of use. But it was so damn fun that I was soon designing graphics just for the heck of it. I really took it as a stress relief mechanism. I must be doing something right because one day out of the blue I got an email from Canva.

How I Make $2000 a Month Selling Canva Templates online
How I Make $2000 a Month Selling Canva Templates online

We love your work and would love to have you as a Canva Certified Creative and Brand Ambassador! – I was paraphrasing, but that was basically the message.

As I kept designing more and more graphics with Canva for my blog, I started getting emails from random readers asking about my graphic design services.

That, along with the fact that one of my freebies - a blogger media kit template built with Canva - was getting a lot of attention, I knew I had an opportunity there. So around January 2019 I started my first Canva template store.

I started small. I set up a WooCommerce store on my blog and launched my first five Canva templates. Several media kit templates and some social media template packs. For several months I have been designing templates for ebooks, notebooks, presentations, planners and more.

I also set up stores on third party marketplaces to generate more income.

A little over a year later, in 2020, I made my first $1,000! Oh, and by the way, I was doing all of this on the side!

I don't work more than a few hours a week designing templates and promoting my products.

2. How much do you earn monthly selling Canva templates?

When I first started my business, I treated it as a hobby. I didn't promote my products enough and depended only on blog traffic. Mind you my blog was less than a year old at the time and I had maybe a hundred visitors a day on a good day.

And I was happy about it. I remember the day I made my first hundred dollars selling Canva templates and I mentally patted myself on the back thinking I could treat myself to a fancy dinner or something.

But as more and more sales started coming in, I realized I had stumbled upon something with great potential. That's when I decided to take it seriously.

And now, two years after starting my business, I'm making an average of $2,000 a month and more.

Here are some of the Canva templates I sell.

3. What is a Canva template? What is Canva?

So, as I mentioned above, Canva is an online graphic design application. It's free to use, but users can sign up for a pro account, which unlocks some nice features as well as access to millions of premium images and graphics.

A Canva template is basically designs created with Canva that can be shared with other Canva users, who can then edit and customize those designs to create something unique.

Users can change the colors, images, fonts and texts of the template and make it their own.

It's a lot like Photoshop or InDesign or even Illustrator templates.

The difference is that while Adobe products have a steep learning curve, Canva is easy to use, making it much more sought after by people who don't have the know-how of Adobe products or don't have the time to learn how these difficult-to-use programs work.

4. What do you like about creating Canva templates?

You see, I've always had a great love and appreciation for good design. In college, when I was getting my degree in electrical engineering (which I love, by the way), I occasionally threw in articles about graphic design and typography. One of the reasons I learned programs like Photoshop and InDesign was so I could create beautiful designs myself.

But I never had enough time to master these platforms.

But Canva was different.

It's like when I started using Canva, I looked like an experienced designer when I wasn't. All because the platform is so easy to use. You can choose different frames and shapes from their huge library of graphic resources and boom!

You can create something stunning in minutes - tasks that would otherwise take you HOURS if you tried to do them with Photoshop or InDesign. I'm not bashing Adobe products here, I'll admit that Photoshop and Illustrator and InDesign are much better than Canva. But my point is that not everyone has the time to learn these platforms or the resources to hire a professional designer.

Canva is perfect for these people. It's perfect for me!

5. How much money can you make selling Canva templates? Can you make money selling templates? Can you make money from Canva?

If I can make an average of over $2000 per month with just 30 templates in my store, then the answer is yes, there is money to be made with this store.

How much you earn depends on many factors like the quality of your template, usability, relevance, right price, etc. It also depends on how much time you put into this business. I do this on the side and make about $2000 a month.

6. Who buys Canva templates? Won't too many people sell them?

Typically, people who buy Canva templates are those who don't have the skills to design their own graphics and digital products using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator or InDesign. They love Canva because the platform is very easy to use.

Even someone who has never designed anything in their life can pick up Canva in a few hours!

There may be too many people selling Canva templates, but there is also a much larger audience that needs templates. I wouldn't worry about the market getting saturated anytime soon.

Especially with the growing number of bloggers, online course creators, educators and trainers, the demand for digital products is only growing, as is the popularity of Canva.

7. Do I need to already have followers to make money selling Canva templates?

I know some Canva template sellers who don't even have their own website, email list or anything! I know a few people who make more money than me but don't even have a huge social media following.

You can always use a third-party marketplace like Etsy or Creative Market. These platforms do a decent job of driving traffic to your products

8. How can I come up with new ideas for Canva templates? How do I learn how to create Canva templates for sale?

I often tell my students to think about the audience they want to serve.

Ideas come from knowing the audience.

It also helps to note special months and holidays. For example, March is Women's History Month and a designer could create template packs that focus on inspirational women. February is all about Valentine templates. Trust me, once you go down this rabbit hole, you'll find that the problem isn't finding new ideas, it's keeping up with all the ideas you have!

9. Does Canva own my designs? Or me as a creator?

No way! Own your designs! Canva is simply a tool that brings your creative vision to life.

The only thing unique about Canva is the graphic elements. As a Canva user and template designer, you can use these elements that you do not own, but have permission to use as a Canva user.

But that's okay because when a buyer buys your template, they'll need to have a Canva account themselves to customize the template. And as a Canva user, they will have the same license to use these graphic elements as you, the template designer.

10. Can someone without technical skills create a Canva template?

One of the advantages of Canva is its ease of use.

Of course, different people have different skills. If someone sits down with Canva and plays with it for a few days and still hasn't figured out how to use the platform, then maybe selling Canva templates isn't the best idea for them.

However, I can tell you that using and creating with Canva requires a lot less technical skills than Photoshop or InDesign, for example.

11. Can you list the steps needed to start creating and selling Canva templates?

Of course, the most important thing for selling Canva templates is knowing how to use Canva.

To do this, you first need to create an account with Canva and play around with the platform until you know how to create a design.

Once you've taken care of that, here's what you should ideally do to start selling your templates.

  1. 1. Decide what kind of templates to sell. Create a product line. If you're a complete beginner and have no idea where to start, a good first five products might be — an Instagram template pack, an e-book or magazine, a planner or some kind of worksheet, a presentation/slide deck, social media banners.
  2. 2. Set up shop(s). Your store can be on your own website, or Etsy, or Creative Market, or preferably all three of these platforms! There are other platforms for selling Canva templates. But these three are my favorites so far.
  3. 3. Design your templates and prepare deliveries for your buyers.
  4. 4. Design amazeballs product images that will make your ideal customers fall in love with your templates.
  5. 5. List your products in your stores.
  6. 6. Sell/promote your products.
  7. 7. Sell templates and earn $$$

12. Are there any other tips you have for someone who wants to try this side hustle?

Selling Canva templates is like any other business, but with less losses.

For example, you can start creating and selling Canva templates with just a free Canva account. It doesn't cost you any money to set up shops on Etsy or Creative Market. So it is not as risky a business as some others.

That means you have to love Canva and creating with Canva. I mean, someone who hates writing can't be a writer, right? It's the same with Canva templates.

Ask yourself - do you enjoy creating graphics and digital products? Do you have the patience to spend hours creating beautiful things and making a concerted effort to create better products every time you sit down to design? If your answer is yes, then you have what it takes to start a Canva template business.

Like any other business, the Canva template business is not a get-rich-over-night scheme. You need to work for at least a few months before you see results. You have to have patience, persistence and you have to get to work!

Conclusion: How to Sell Canva Templates

I hope you enjoyed this conversation about how to sell Canva templates and how to make money with Canva.

What I love about this side hustle is that you can work from home in your spare time and be your own boss!

A Canva template is like a pre-designed layout that others can use to create things like social media graphics, Pinterest images, eBooks, and more. People buy these templates because it's a useful starting point if you're not very good at designing things. Business owners, nonprofits, educators, planners, and more all buy templates.

Because it depends on how many hours you dedicate to it each week (for example, do you want to work part-time or full-time), what you do to grow your business and more.

As an online accountant, you can earn around $40,000 or more every year. Usually there are 12-16 clients. Hourly wages can range from $60 to $100 per hour.

It is not uncommon for an accountant to earn around $300 per month per client, which is a total of 4-5 hours per month.

That being said, you will need to learn how to do this job properly, and one way is to take an online course. Yes, that means you can learn how to become an accountant with no experience.

Skills you may need as an online accountant may include:

• Organizational Skills – As an accountant, you need strong organizational skills to organize and categorize numbers. Organizational skills are also a must when working with multiple clients.

• Understand the numbers – Now you don't need a degree in finance, but you should at least be good at numbers and willing to learn how to do proper business accounting. Most accountants use fairly simple math.

• Attention to detail – As an accountant you will be dealing with the financial details of a company, which means you need to be able to pay good attention to all the different details.

With training, you can learn how to become an accountant, how to find accounting clients and how to keep accounts.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of bookkeeping?

As with any job, becoming an online accountant has its pros and cons.

Positives of the profession of accountant:

• Getting started with bookkeeping is affordable as all you really need is a laptop or computer and an internet connection.

• You can work from home or on the go.

• You can create your own schedule, which can be great if you're a stay-at-home parent or if you just want to be in charge of your own hours.

• You can decide who your clients are and who you will work with.

Cons of Becoming an Accountant:

• While you may be able to create a flexible schedule, there may still be deadlines you need to meet. It all depends on the client.

• You will need to learn bookkeeping to help your clients.

• It's still work, of course 🙂 That means you'll still have to work. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme.
