As per the details in the 22nd match in Chennai, India, the target of 283 runs set by Pakistan was easily achieved by Afghanistan with the loss of 2 wickets one early.

National team captain Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bat first, which turned out to be extremely scary. The Afghan bowlers initially kept the Pakistan batsmen trapped in a whirlwind of spinning balls and the team's total was restricted to just 282 runs. Then when the Afghan players held the bat, the hands of the Pakistani bowlers flew off. With Afghanistan scoring 131 runs and another 190 runs, the Afghan batsmen made no mistake and easily reached the target set by Pakistan.

Talking about Pakistan, Babar Azam scored 74 runs and Abdullah Shafiq scored 58 runs for Pakistan side. The green shirts did not start well against Afghanistan. But after scoring only 17 runs, Azmatullah was out bowled by Umarzai, after which a 54-run partnership was forged between Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafiq for the second wicket. He pointed the way to the paddock pavilion.

Wicket batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who came in next, did not last long at the crease and fell victim to Noor Ahmed after scoring just 8 runs. Saud Shakeel along with Babar Azam tried to manage Pakistan's scorecard but also left the skipper alone in the middle and walked off the field after scoring just 25 runs.

In such a situation, captain Babar Azam completed his half-century but got out after scoring 74 runs off 92 balls in an attempt to make the team a big total. Then Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan batted responsibly in the final overs, Iftikhar on 27 balls. After scoring 40 runs, he was caught on the second ball of the last over and on the last ball of the same over, Shadab Khan was also caught after scoring 40 runs in 38 balls, leaving Pakistan to score only 282 runs for the loss. 7 wickets in the last over.
