A historic mosque located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh was reportedly demolished on Sunday to "widen a road".

Former United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Water Cooperation Committee Chairman Ashok Swain shared a video of a mosque being demolished by a bulldozer on his official Twitter profile.
Journalist and anti-Islamophobic activist CJ Werleman also shared the video, saying the mosque was demolished by the Hindutva regime on the pretext of widening the street.
The platform Saffron Diaries, run by bipartisan journalists, says that according to the 42nd Amendment to the Indian Constitution, “India is a secular state.” However, the state leveled the historic mosque. According to
Muslim Space, the ruined mosque is Shahi His Masjid in Handia, Allahabad and was built during the time of Shah Shah His Sri. It was demolished in the presence of the Department of Public Works to widen the
GT road, but the case was reportedly filed in lower court on January 16.
Last month marked 30 years since his 16th-century Babri Mosque in the northern Indian city of Ayodhya was demolished by Hindu hardliners.
Pakistan condemned a Hindu temple under construction at the site and called on New Delhi to rebuild the historic mosque on its original site and to properly punish criminals involved in its destruction. .
Recently, a court in Uttar Pradesh ordered an investigation of his 17th-century Shahidga Mosque in Mathura, 57 kilometers north of the city of Agra. This is because right-wing Hindu groups claimed that the mosque was on the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
The District Court of Mathura ordered the Archaeological Survey of India to conduct a survey after 2 January. Reports will be submitted after January 20th.
The dedication of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has led to widespread anti-Muslim rhetoric in India.
This is evidenced by the acquittal of about 500 mosques and shrines in Gujarat, India, according to a report by the People's Coalition for Human Rights.
The disappearance of 650 mosques of varying sizes in Amritsar is further evidence of the anti-Muslim movement, according to figures obtained by Surinder Khochar, an Indian researcher who studies religious sites in India and Pakistan.
This anti-Muslim narrative also has thousands of Muslims facing eviction from their homes in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
